Welcome to the Social-Emotional Well-being (SEW) Lab site! The SEW Lab activities are initiated and overseen by Andrea Dennison, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor at Texas State University in the School Psychology program. Dr. Dennison’s work focuses on identifying personal, social, and environmental factors that promote and protect healthy well-being. Her primary interests regard enhancing the well-being of children, adolescents, immigrants, people with disabilities, trauma survivors, black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) and other under-served populations.

In light of the current events unfolding in the U.S., the SEW Lab is redoubling its commitment to equity and anti-racist action. While many families have been pushed to their limits in recent years, emotionally, financially, and otherwise, the new crises posed by a global pandemic have compounded those. We are compiling resources for families, teachers, and those in the helping professions in service of the change that we believe is possible. You can find those resources under the Equity and Global Health tab above.

Stay safe and healthy, y’all.
